The Boyfriend (1993)

In The Boy Friend, a 1920s theatrical spoof, the perfect young ladies of Madame Dubonnet’s Finishing School celebrate Carnival on the French Riviera. Polly Browne, a heiress, is embarrassed to admit her lack of suitors and sends love notes to Tony, a handsome messenger boy. They form a romance, but confusion arises when Polly’s father discovers a former flame and Lord and Lady Brockhurst pursue Tony. The film features high-energy musical numbers, mistaken identities, and 20s slang.
