The King & I (1995)

In the 1860s, Anna Leonowens, widowed and set sail for Bangkok, Siam, to become a schoolteacher for the King of Siam’s royal offspring. Initially horrified by his traditions, Anna and the King struggle to find common ground. As advisors, they teach each other about understanding, respect, and love, transcending differences. The King and I is a unique love story in the musical theatre canon, despite its conflict-ridden nature.
