Lady Hadwell, widow of an aristocrat, struggles to make ends meet by opening her home to the public. Her youngest daughter, Charlie, is a tomboy, and her assistant Joe, in love with Charlie, conceals his fortune. Charlie returns her evening gown, and guests indulge in underwear.
